Tropical Way Makeover

Tropical Way Makeover

Project Summary

Project Type: Whole-House Remodel

This beautiful home underwent a full renovation, resulting in a unique and functional layout — including a playroom placed between the living room and the kitchen, which became one of the most interesting challenges of the project.

The flooring throughout the house was updated with new tile and wood parquet. Many of the walls were finished with decorative plaster to achieve a rustic, aged look. The existing arched shapes near the fireplace were preserved and echoed in the new arched doorways added in the living room. New wall moldings, baseboards, crown molding with LED lighting, and sheer curtain pockets completed the architectural update.

In the kitchen, the previously dropped ceiling was removed, revealing a high ceiling. We continued the wooden beams from the living room to visually connect the spaces. The pantry features a clever solution: a standard sliding door installed inside an arched doorway to match the home’s curved design language.

All plumbing was replaced with new contemporary fixtures. A wall-mounted pot filler was added above the cooktop for improved functionality.

The playroom was reinforced structurally, with a strengthened ceiling and a portion of the wall prepared for monkey bars and a climbing wall — a true paradise for kids.

The entrance door was enlarged and rebuilt as an arched opening to harmonize with the other rounded architectural features in the house.

The small guest WC was transformed into a cozy boho-inspired space with wood details, rough textured plaster, a stone vessel sink, wall-mounted faucet, and a wall-mounted toilet for a clean, modern look.

Throughout the renovation, AC vents were replaced with linear diffusers, and all electrical and lighting work was completed according to the detailed design plan.

A complex, detail-heavy renovation that brought the home to life while preserving its warm, rustic character.
