Glen Terrace Makeover
Glen Terrace Makeover
Project Summary
Project Type: Full First-Floor Home Renovation
This older home underwent a full first-floor remodel for a family of four, including the entrance, family room, music room, living room, kitchen, pantry, and guest bathroom. The renovation included new engineered hardwood and tile flooring, complete wall and ceiling leveling, updated electrical work, hidden lighting, and the installation of new baseboards, crown molding, and custom decorative moldings—especially in the entrance and family room.
Because of the low ceilings and lack of overhead lighting, a matte stretch ceiling with integrated lighting was installed in the family room. The kitchen layout was redesigned to include a large functional island with seating, a cooktop, a ceiling-mounted flush hood, and built-in appliances such as a beverage fridge and microwave drawer.
One of the most unique features of the project was the custom bar nook created in place of the old TV area. With plumbing nearby, we were able to add a bar sink, disposal, small fridge, and all necessary utilities. Warm wood panels, green mosaic tile, rustic antique mirror tile, and stone flooring gave the bar its character.
Several original elements were restored rather than replaced, including two fireplaces, travertine columns, and the staircase. The guest bathroom was fully updated with new stone, floating vanity, hidden lighting, and new plumbing fixtures for a clean, contemporary look.
A complex renovation that blended restoration with fresh construction, resulting in a warm and functional family home.
